At the 17th IACG meeting held in Moscow, Russia, the IACG full supported a new space science correlative data analysis campaign. This campaign will occur during the Solar Maximum around the year 2000.
The IACG space science community is in the process of fully reaping the benefits of the previously defined IACG Campaigns. With the probable extension of many of our existing missions through the year 2002, with the recent successful launches of ACE and Equator-S, and with the upcoming launches of Cluster, IMAGE, HESSI, and others, the international Space Science community now has a tremendous opportunity to support correlative analysis at solar-maximum (year 2000).
Dr. James L. Green presented the basic elements of the Solar Maximum campaign to the Space Science Working Group and the IACG Plenary at the Moscow meeting (December 8-10, 1997).
The next step will be for Science Working Group 2 to convene a science community wide workshop to more clearly define the objectives of the Solar Maximum campaign within the next year. Please look for upcoming announcements.
